Wat bit u tryin to get of m8? The L shape part that (in the pics) is bolted to the bottom of the shock and bolted to the frame ? The bolt that's on the frame has to come out on the left hand side by the chane roller , on the other side there's a weld bit in the frame to stop the nut turning, if u remove the chain roller u have better acces to the bolt, me n steve had the same prob on his dtr we smashed the crap outta it for like an hour soaked it in wd40 more smashing still wouldnt come out so we left it in lol

The way to really get a good whack on it is put the bolt back in on the left side but leave a small gap between the flange of the bolt head and the inner rod that way you got a good surface to hit without making a mess of it n really getting it stuck in there

Ok iv jus looked at ur pics again n realised u want the bolt out from the bottom of the shock lol

Try turning the bolt and hitting it at the same time (put the nut on it first so u don't squash up the threads!!!)
Next thing is the bolt may have a grove worn into it, get somone to lift the back of the bike up taking the weight off the bolt ( jiggle it up n down...lol not like tht lol!!) and tap it out

Let us know how u get on

Had a couple on mine I couldnt get out, so sprayed it liberally with release oil (wd 40, or maintenance oil), then carefully used a plumbers blow torch to heat the bolt,( aim heat away from rubber bushes) then sprayed Loctite freeze spray immediately after, couple more drifts, and it came out straight away. Another tip, and trust me it has worked for me in the past on seized bolts, is to soak the area with coca-cola, and leave overnight, you may well laugh but try it, it does work.

On mine I took the swing arm and shock off there for making it easier to get at the shock one the hardest one for me was the one holding the knuckle to the frame and as Brads says take the chain roller off then undo the bolt on the left so you have a little clearance from the frame a good soaking with WD over night then while it is still fast a sleep sneak up on it give it a blo--- great big smack with as big a hammer as you can find and away you go ,swing arm bolt out easy then top shock bolt out and you have it all out and you can work on it at your leisure , so for me it was wheel out chain off, chain roller off two bolts, and three bolts out and you have it ,you are now the boss every thing where you can get at it
