Sticky floats perhaps? Have you cleaned all the inside pipes and made sure the float spring thing is working as it should?

mine was doin that every time i had the petrol on without the engine running,it was fine while the engine was running,i took the carb apart and i found one of the floats had a little hole in it,so i changed it, but it kept happening,so i took it all apart and cleand everything, its been fine ever since,i think there was a bit of grit in it....i would check there is no holes in the float 1st,then take it all apart and clean it again,i blew through the petrol pipe, whilest moveing the float up and down, and it seemed a bit gritty so i cleaned it all.when you blow through the pipe, and push the float up,make sure when the floats up,you cant blow through the pipe, if you can then you mite need to adjust the float,im no mechanic m8 but thats what i would do.
