Firstly high everyone im new here just wanted to say hello.
Secondly ive just purchased a dt125r 2003 its a tidy enough we bike a couple of questions though when i start the bike from cold and click it into first there is a loud clunk sound sumtimes it stalls the bike it only does it forst thing though the rest of the day its fine.
Next question theres 18k miles on the bike not sure what these engines are good for what does everyone think?
Ok last question lol the dt seems a tad sore on fuel i dont know if its because ive always been used to 4 strokes or if theres something wrong with the bike on average it does about 80mile to 10r of petrol and about 100 to full tank maybe this is normal i dont know lol but im sure someone will clear it up fo me thanks in advance.

and if the bike is stalling when u stick it in gear then u should have a quik look at ur clutch adjustment .......sounds like its dragging and could be worse in the morning because all the oild drained out of it overnight
The clunking is normal as the oil in there is cold and thicker in the morning and the clutch plates get a bit stuck together, I'd still check ur clutch adjustment tho as it shouldn't really do it every morning , it defo will if it's been sitting for a while
Wen does ur clutch start to bite wen ur releasing the lever?? Is it almost Immidietly from fully pulled?? If it is then u gotta tighten the cable a tad
sounds like the clutch is not fully releasing.... its still draggin , then coz the revs aint high enoughf its stalling the engine when dropped into gear
overnight the oil drains and cools causing it to be worse in the mornings
hey bradders good to see someone who knows what they're talkin about
o well ok atleast i know its normal then thats a bit of relief,
the clutch starts to bite almost as the lever is fully out it only goes a little bit further after it bites the clutch seems good enought it doesnt slip or anything its just first thing in the morning although bit of an update today notice that the chain was mega slack the side adjusters were both at number 5 i almost have them at number 8 now just to take up the slack but there aint any loud clunk anymore so maybe the problem was the chain all along lol.
