Bad sides:

7x5's aren't supposed to be used on the road
I'm almost certain you're not supposed to have a border on the plate either, but if it was on a fullsize plate i'm sure 99.9% of police wouldn't care/know
The writing is blue, almost certain it has to be black (or silver on the old style metal plates)
And the font like toy soldier said has to be blocked capitals

Good sides:

I think you're allowed a slogan at the bottom as many shops do that..

Despite me sounding so negative i've bought a 7X5 for my latest bike but am still to drill the holes and fit it..

Here is where i bought the plate on ebay, you can choose your own slogan and it's a 7X5 and works out to less than £7!!

I dont think the lettering is that bad. I think il give it ago and see how I do. There are many cars out there that have the fancy letters. mammoth200 How much did you pay for that plate?

Techniclly it's illegal to have ANY lettering around your plate unless it just says GB. But police are pretty relaxed with it just like tinted front windows. You have to get a really bored cop to get points.

Looks good, i'd get the font more bold myself. not sure why but i've never been a fan of private plates. My bike syas K reg and I love peoples reaction when they realise how old it is.

borders on the plates are legal got to be legal charles wright font at 64mm and have 11mm between characters also its legal to have 3d font and euro legal badges but the font in the firs pic will get ya fooked straight away in my opinion. im a numberplate maker and if ur gonna get a plate we always advise legal lettering as its a £60 on the spot fine for it

heres the sizes u can have legally
standard uk bike plate 9"x7" 228mmx178mm will comply with all laws £13 +p&p
a 6 character reg 7.5x6.5 should also get away with this size 7 character if top line has atleast one number 1 in top line £14.50 +p&p
bendy 9x7 trial bike plate they are super flexi wont snap easy very good option £16.50 + p&p
6 character legal 7x6.5 as above should be ok if u have a number 1 in top line £14.50 +p&p
standard 9x6.5 £14.50

all above are the legal allowed sizes as stated if u have a 1 on top line u should get awaw with the smaller one but cant gaurantee that
can also have borders and badges added but they cost extra

There's a real good plate maker in the back of mcn. They do loads of sizes and it's like 7quid with your own writing on the bottom. My dad just got one done for one of the ducati's and had 'spaghetti Bolognese' written on it... :D

And for the cheapest personalised plates, I think having 3 letters then four numbers is cheap. Your initials then date of birth :) bout £130 up... I want to get ALE then numbers lol
