So I'm still trying to find a way to replace the rear fender on my 05 dtx. Hate the light on it, only thing I can think of is to get a plastic fabricator to make one the same but with no light. Or knock my light out , cut it flat and fibre glass it over. Or just make a hpires fit? Other thing I was thinking was that the tail section frame just bolts on to the main frame...could I swap this with a dt rear frame? Then a hpires fit?

The part the HP fender fits is actually part of the main frame mate . Your best bet would be to remove your fender and put a tail tidy on with the hp rear

So the hp fits straight on the dtx? I know I'm gonna have to get a tail tidy and rear light etc...but if I but a hp I can bolt it on with no hassle or just a bit of drilling whatever?

If I was you I'd buy a second hand standard one and mod that. The hpires isn't any good for the DTX or RE as the fender flows into the number boards on the later models which it doesen't on the earlier models. I've wanted to knock a fiberglass one up myself that I could make copies of but I haven't had the time or the space since moving into my new place!
