Thanks pal, i will put another link up.  Yeaah its in pretty good nick innit. Only trouble is i wont let it get wet so any sign of rain i dont go out on it. :(

I paid 2200 for it, i had given up hope of finding one in such good nick and was looking at 02/03's until this one showed up.  I had even thought about buying a frame and rebuilding one from scratch but that would have cost about 4000 or more to do with new bits from Yam.

Im chuffed with this though because of its age its also one of the first ones with less restriction, only a matter of turning powervalve round and taking baffle out of expansion pipe mouth.
I ended up turning powervalve fully open and it was like lightening but all top end so i turned it back half way between restricted and open...so now i still have a great powerband that kicks in about 4500 revs and goes right through, not lost much top end but gained a lot midrange making it better for the road usage.

If i could get in a glass box on display in the house i would lol  :)
Very luck find.

Hi there Gadget, thanks pal.  Trouble is i dont like getting it wet so any sign of rain and i wont take it out.

A very luck find, i paid 2200 for it, i had given up on trying to find one in as good nick. I had even priced up a frame and all the bits to build one up from scratch with parts from yam, it would have cost me over 4000.  I was looking at 02/03 reg bikes before this turned up so im chuffed to bits cause its one of the originals with less restriction.

I knocked the washer/baffle our of the expansion pipe and turned the pv round and it flew but it was all top end and i was having to kick down and scream all the time on the road....so i turned the pv back halfway between fully open and the restricted position, ive not lost much top end but the powerband kicks in at around 4500 and 5000 revs now and has more power on the bottom end for road useage.

When i fill up im getting about 70miles until i hit reserve....bit more if im steady, bit less if im hammering it.

If i could get in a glass box and on display above my bed i would! fell in love with the DT in 89 when i had my first one which was sky blue with yellow graphics but sadly that got nicked. So...21 years on...im chuffed to bit to have found this one.

i will repost the link....

Have a good weekend!

dont know if you can tell by the pics but mine is a 1990 aswell

i love this bike and also fell in love with them very early on and just had to have one

i wanted a black one as this was the one i first saw and fell in love with

mine is well used but these are well built and is solid underneath

im gonna rebuild the whole thing myself (and powdercoat the lot) as i think it deserves it ...21 years old and still p1sses over everything...goes off the clock so dont even know my top speed lol

ive got the servo but its not working as it should witch turns out to be better coz it doesnt smooth the whole rev range out...mmmmm powerband kick...but still got a little midrange...but not alot below that

my mate had me rewire his with 1990 spec wiring/stator/servo etc cos as you know these ones are qwik .... his is 2000 model ...you can check out the rebuild of his engine in the engine/tuning section its "dtdans cursed rebuild"

you should hear the two of them together......audio pleasure

you have a good weekend aswell fella and lets hope the weather holds out smile
