Alright guys me.. again haha. Ok im like 90% sure i know what's gonig on but i want some expert advice :) I've just re-gasket'ed my clutch cover after sorting my clutch out, all new oil, new coolant and basically the gear selector has moved and my bike will only change into 1st, 2nd and Neutral. So somehow the Gear selector has moved out of place meaning i'm gunna have to redrain the bike and sort it out, Does anyone think it's any other reason why it's doing this?
When I changed my clutch plates mate etc etc not that long ago I had this sort of problem but had to send it to yamaha as couldnt get the clutch basket thing off, as you need a special tool, they told me it was the return spring I think it popped out or something, but the best way to have a look is you can see all this when you take the side cover off and look right underneath up behind the clutch basket!!!!!
Aye sweet mate, i've got the tool for it all, i'm 90% sure it's the spring too cheers for the help boss :) tbh im more pissed off that i have to drain all the oil and coolant again :( more £££

:( i've just took it apart again and adjusted the spring to fit back on, bolted it back up and it's just done the same thing. not too sure what too do now :/ any ideas?
Ok Nath mate let one of the experts on here see this and hopefully there give you the low down on it, like I said mine went to the garage to get sorted cos didnt have the right tool like you got, so not sure why the spring would come back out or whatever it does, but when you fitted everything back on like the clutch plates etc you done it all to the manual? like in this topic......... read through it mate, Link Below:
:), Yeah Triple checked everything from the haynes, when i fixed my clutch i didnt need to remove the shaft or gear selector so i have no idea how it's coming out :(! got a mate coming round to have a look tomorrow ill keep you updated :)
it just pings out pretty easily m8 just a little knock on the gear lever inwards acidentally when the casing off did it myself 1st time ,, before you put you casing back on next time check the gears all select ,,, with the lever well pulling the lever out left side off the bike away from the engine so it doesnt slip off the linkage again with the casing being off.
Arlight i've got it so that it doesnt jump out when the casing is on, but it gets to a certain gear makes a wierd noise and wont go further. think i'll strip the assembley up later and see if anythings a miss.
