riding in the rain is sketchy on nobbly's i havant tried sm but i would defo go for it purley so i can go round corners without feeling like im on a vibrating chair
If you only do road riding on your dt then defo do it, i have been running my supermoto set-up for about 3 week's know and it is wicked! Handle's 10x better than enduro set-up obviously, & i can go flat out on nearly any corners + it makes you dt look lush
I have to admit i did like the idea of sumo setups but looking for the wheels and the money they cost is a joke. An now its kinda like every one has them or wants them. Seen to many so for me it's not like id be bothered or interested. The DTR was made for the tracks. Maybe you should have bough a DTX 125 instead as thats more for the road. Sorry if i sounded rude then.. Just stating my point lol.
LMAO xGINCATx The No no part lol. Im gonna buy some new rims soon an get them powercoated in a sexy blue hehe Oh an of corse have the Hub's in sexy Blue aswel with new spokes maybe in white. gonna have an overhall on this mofo. But i think il wait till next year when i hopefuly move to a new gaffer.. My dt aint much to look at but them chavs still want it. and with them nice rims its not worth having em when they will just get nicked.

They only sold the dtr200 here in Canada and until 1996 I think. We never saw the 125.
I just wanted a small street bike (2 strokes of course), so the DT is perfect and it even looks like the YZ I just sold.
I was asking about the SM only because I have to get new rims.
I woukd say defoo 10000000000000% get the sumo....unless you plan on riding off road in the wet. I have taken my sumo offrod in the dry and it eats it up! in the wet its hopeless! on the road it is a billion times better than nobblies...just depands on what you need it for! unless youre gonna go off road 1-2 times a week minimun, then go sumo!
hi im new to the site ive got a 96 dtr and im curruntly restoring it and wanted to know if to go for this supermoto set up or just try get some good tyres on me wheels (which are going to be powdercoated red and white ) would just like some usefull advice :) lol many thanks Ryan
Depends on what you want. Onroad SM wheels WILL be better, looks wise it does look a good but it's entirely down to your preference, budget and riding style. Would have had both if I could have been bothered to do the change over.
I've had both DT-RE and DT-X.... currently have the DT-X...and personally i'd never buy an RE again... DT-X all the way... the SM setup handles like a dream as most ppl have already said.... they arent atall bad offroad either to be honest... tho stick to dry or damp mud...not the sloppy stuff lol... I've had mine in the woods alot, hitting small - medium jumps..the bike loves it...
