Just wondering if anyone knew what size threaded bar i would need to make my own crash bobbin's out of skate board wheels? I have seen it done befroe on here & look's sweat but not sure what size bar will fit through the center of my hubs!
Any idea's or am i just going to take a guess on it
i'll go measure the rod i used in a bit for ya, was fairly small to fit through the axles but does hold up using washers to keep the skateboard wheels in place, one thing i found on mine was the 1988 axle wasn't drilled right through but got a later one for a quid off ebay that did the trick, worked nicely undertest when i was off road thinking i was a wheelie god coming out of a hill and was just had a perfect wheelie blipping it to keep it up, what i didn't realise that under the grass was a rut that went off in a different direction and i went down hard lol, a dremmel sanding attachment is handy if you have one to open up the inside ends of the wheels to get them to fit nicely over the ends of the axle and a hacksaw to nibble the inside edge on the front ones to fit around the forks (though the last problem you might not have with skateboard wheels as i used rollerskate wheels which have flat backs because they were the only ones i could find in orange)
no probs, think it was like £1.60 for the threaded rod from B&Q and £2 quick for a pair of rollerskates from a car boot so super cheep but pretty cool mod
