Hello to everyone,

Please please can someone help, I have just bought my first bike, a dt125r from 2002.

it was needing some work which I am doing myself( slowly with the help of a haynes) My problem started when I droped the throttle needle changing the cable, ( more money) anyway I cant seem to find one. anyone got any idea were to find one at a reasonable pricetears.gif

 Personally i never looked. but either pop in to a local dealer or any Yamaha one. If none in they can order one. Or look on Ebay and this part section of this forum and get one from someone breaking a whole bike.

mikuni has a code on all there needles, note. DTR has different to DTRE X needles

I have used http://www.allensperformance.co.uk . If you go into their website, select the Mikuni carbs option then choose the carb family - flat slide is TM, round slide is VM. You can then choose the exact model and then the part number for the needle. Hope this helps.

they list the tm28 as a vm28 which is a mistake but they do sell tm28 but

yamaha had this carb set up with angled spigots and different jets, needle, slide cut away etc

what you need is someone who has the same carb to tell you the code on it and then email allensPerformance

I got my needle from my local Yamaha dealer but remember it only comes as a set about 25 quid ish as mine was bent to after I dropped the bloody thing

Its a pain in the asssss mate I know, according to a few people on here, even a slightly bent needle puts the idling out of place etc
