I did some bits on my DT at the weekend, I thought you might want to see.... I posted some pics in this section a few days ago so you can see the before and after. I fitted some hand guards (original Yamaha, but new), swapped the fork gaiters for some Acerbis fork socks and I fitted a jack up kit to the rear shock. I also upsized my main jet from a 210 to a 240 but you won't see that in the pics LOL
The jack up kit makes the bike feel very different. I don't know if looks that much taller but it feels it. The suspension on the rear feels stiffer too and riding position feels different, a bit more pushed forward against the tank - more like a crosser! P*ss easy to do, 5 minutes.

Looks good man, i have orded a jack up kit about 2 weeks ago so should be here anyday!
Could you please tell me if you have to take the little "grease nipples" off the right hand side of the old jack kit. Or do you just take the big bolts off and leave the nipples?
You don't need to touch the grease nipples. Undo the big nuts (21mm i think), you'll need to get a spanner or socket on both sides, the side with the grease nipples is actually the head of like a long bolt/spindle that that goes through the shock linkage to the other side. The nuts come off the opposide side, the "dogbone" on that side comes offthen the whole spinles come out with grease nipples intact on that side. swap your dogbones for your new ones, put back together, tickten up and you're done. Did order kit off Ebay from a german seller? I got mine delivered from Germany in about 3 days so if you're still waiting, you might want to check your payment went through okay

I only went for a 10 min burn round town since doing it, it does feel totally different, much more different than I was expecting. Seems to turn in pretty much the same though and I haven't got it up to speed yet, only about 50ish - felt okay. It does seem to put more of the bikes weight forward onto the forks though. I think someone on here mentioned stiffer fork springs (you???), that might be a good idea if you're jacking the back as the shorter dogbones on the linkage seem to make it harder to compress the shock, so it's stiffer and taller at the back, so maybe stiffer at the front would make it better balanced. Don't think I want the hassle of stripping the forks down and sourcing (and paying for...) new fork springs though!!

Hi, thanks for the help mate
and yes i ordedthem from the german seller about 2 weeks back and still havent come, & i double checked that the payment went through and it says they have been sent out
Going to message them if they still not here in a few day's
In an ideal world I would love to go for USD forks. My mate has a 94 YZ250 that needs some work, kick start mechanism is jammed and gear selector shaft splines have rounded off and it has a few other little problems. He's got a 2001 now and his 94 is just sitting there gathering dust..... maybe I'll see if I can do a deal with him on that and try get the front end on my DT??? i don't think it's an easy job though is it, read a few threads on here about it, needing to get new head race bearings fabricated or yokes modified or something. Definitely some bespoke engineering to get it all to marry up!
