Amazing, thanks! That has answered so many questions for me.

That bike is even the same colour as what i wanted to build.

 

I wonder if i saw that mag when i was 17 and riding 125's and subconciously its stayed in my mind...

 

Pitty RD250/350 and tzr250 engines are uncommon and expensive these days.

Believe me, ive been trawling ebay (and gumtree) for days looking for engines :)

I'd rather find one complete and running, or a complete shafted bike. All the little bits you end up needing add up quick!

 

I have that same set of bars, i thought they were stock for the dt125lc, but maybe not.

Thats a dt125r, and he says there micron bars.

Luckily, i also have a gold pair of renthals!

one of my mates has 2 rgv 250 lumps and a tzr 250 engine siting in his lock up ill see if he wants to sell one if u like

 WOW!!! the crank case is made from one big ass cnc'd block of alloy!! that is truly an amazing piece of kit, imagen that in a dtr frame with sumo setup haha! id prob last 5 mins before i kill myself on it, but itll be the best 5 mins of my life lol!!!

RGV250 engine in a road registered rm125 would be ace!

 

Would have to be an early 90's RM though.

No idea how hard it would be to fit, going to a V twin would probably be trickier, elthough cooler, than fitting a paralell twin.

You can make anything fit with the right tools and a welder. Let's say wack a cr500 motor in the dt?
