Carb Issues i think.

hi to all

new member and only here as 5 months ago decided to buy me a dt125r 1989 model.

problem i have is that the bike does not like revin when in gears and riding.

she starts first/second kick even when cold and idles well but as u start riding somewhere in the 3 to 6k rpm will loose power and not pick up speed. once past the 6 to 7k mark the acceleration is unreal (very good). the engine stays cold all the time ie the temp gage is always near the cold end. i have also noticed that sometimes if you open the throttle very gently she will run fine but slow at picking up speed.

will include a video later so u guys know what im on about.

any advice is welcome.

its possible its a carb problem, though things i would look at first with this is possibly worn reeds, coked up pipe and do a compression test on the engine to see if the top end has become worn.
