Can crank case's be fixed when cracked?

Not sure if I should post this here or not but I need to know lol Right so my mate has a 1991ish kx125 that he brought and has never used it he is to busy doing his mini project! So the motor is leaking out transmission oil from the clutch cover (ben changed so that's fixed) and is leaking from the left crank case and has been bodged up with some JB weld so is not a proper fix! So I was wondering if there are any easy fix's such as tig weld it or should I keep away? Apart from that the bike is in immaculate condition for a 1990's bike, and goes like sh1t of a shovel!

Yup, the engine should be stripped and the bearings/seals etc removed from the cracked case. The whole thing needs thoroughly degreasing, the damaged area vee'd out then a good welder to tig weld it. It depends on where abouts it is, but you may need to check machined faces for distortion, especially where it joins the other crankcase half.
