Well firstly i've been hearing a rattle for a while coming from the top end just above the powervalve on the left hand side, and today i've been trying to sort my clutch out (problem 2) so i i was warming the bike up to make life easier and this rattle is on a whole new level it litterly sounds like a screw or bolt is loose and just floating about, i really have no space to take the engine apart just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or knows what it could be? problem number 2 is my clutch well my cable snapped as i said in a previous post and i thought yeah its just the cable but i did a bit of investigating tried manually using the clutch arm to engage & disengage the clutch and it's doing nothing at all, so now ive took the clutch apart and noticed the push rod is pretty loose and no idea if this is supposed to be like this or not? any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm pretty f'ed without my bike works 4 miles each way and busses don't run by the time i'm finished :(
Not sure if this is a clue but on my expanny and connection place i found this;
Bareing in mind when i attached it last time i cleaned it pretty thoroughly
That "loose nut bouncing around in your cylinder" type rattle is usually piston slap from worn rings, barrel or piston. My DT sounded just like that when i got it. Cure was new piston, rings and rebore. Parts come to about £70 quid from PJME and then you'll need to get barrel bored and honed (about £25 - £40), it's about a days work if you've never done it before (a couple of hours if you done it a few times).
Has it had a top end rebuild before and what is the mileage?

Ah sweet, i've decided to get rid of her now tho, need money for my test :( as far as i know it's had no engine work from the last 2 owners and it's almost 20k miles, so i can see how the wear and tear might be the answer!
I don't know anybody that has ever declared increased capacity to DVLA. I suppose you wouldn't be able to ride your bike on provisional if you did. A 1mm oversize piston takes your capacity up to 129cc, but hell no, don't declare it!
