i was looking to get a K&n style filter to replace my standerd one as some idoit has drilled holes into it would it be better with the K&n style one or would it go beter standerd ?
Stick with standerd!!! i'm having same problem i got a racing filter that's the same as a K&N some idiot's put a massive hole in the airbox so i had to take it out & replace it.. It's now going at top speeds of 25mph.. racing for you eh? ahaha! Just get a new airbox then it should be good mate!
Stay away from after market air filters for the DT they're a sh*t load of hassle to even try to get one to fit and even if you did fit one there would be pretty much no difference. I found this out the hard way, went to my local part dealers, said he was selling a dt air filter ram-air, got it, stripped the bike down ready to fit it then noticed the fúcking shock was in the way '-.- wasn't best pleased, so i went back the next day, as soon as i walked in the door he said "sorry mate we don't do refunds on jets or air filters" so i bóllocked him and managed to get a credit note, the tight tw@t.
Energized!! Mate, Did the exact same thing ramair filter it's not the fact that the shock was in the way, i actualy got a scalpe knife & scraped out the inside to make it a 43mm & it fitted on well! But... Dun dun dun!!! ****ed up the settings & went at 25mph max lmao! i need a airbox & new carb anyway mine's pissing out from the floats sticking :(
Btw Grant you should come on the toy run on the 22nd it's been going for years! big biker meetup at the britannia stadium and then it's just a cruise round stoke till we get to city hall and then theres a band playing and all that kinda shizz, biker heaven! i'm going with a mate hopefully if the weathers not ****e by then!
