Cold starting issues..

Hey again guys! More problems now :(

Serious cold starting difficulty, upon first attempt to start the bike revs to around ~3000rpm (with choke) as it should, then bogs out and dies.. Try kicking it again with the same choke position it'll hit about 1000rpm and bog out... and throttle use and it floods it even more..

If you kick it over enough times, with varying choke positions it'll eventually splutter into life and hold a semi-steady 1300rpm idle, blip the throttle a bit and it works fine! Bad running in the low revs though, feels very rough, like its flooding and then suddenly coming back to life again... I came off the bike last night as it did that when i was going around a frosty corner..

I have tried: New plugs, head skimming and new gasket, different carb serttings all around (clip, main jet, mixture screw and float height), new fuel, both crank seals..

Plug constantly coming out wet, but nice chocolate brown on the electrode and a tad sooty on the edges.. ??

I also realise that this explanation isn't really going to help a lot.. Will try and take a video soon to show what i mean

have you tried cleaning the pilot jet with compressed air

and have you cleaned the air filter out

if you have tried these then it could be the woodruff key

does it make a sort of backfire but from the carb (pssshhht lol) ???

mines the same, it start first kick on choke and itll rev to about 3000 and stay there constantly and if i take it off choke it will just die, then if i try starting it off choke it sounds ike it wants to start but wont even if i rev it just before it dies.

i can get a steady rpm just blipping the choke about half way but still doesnt sound like its idling, i can only rev it if its on choke as well

when i first tried starting it didnt have the filter and just reved higher than 3000 rpm, then banged in the filter and it settle it to about 3000, tightened everything up and it holds a steady rev at about 3k rpm now.

only think i can think of is jetting because it hasnt been started since june or theres an air leak somewhere but ive sprayed wd40 around the boost bottle neck and inlet gasket and it made no difference and ive tightened everything up so it cant be that.

done a bit research and it all points to pilot jet circuit or ****ed up reeds

the going on and off power does sound like its lean, cold air = more dense

put in a size up pilot jet, theyre only a few quid
