haha, i wanted one but there wasn't much around man! Speaking of oldschool my engine does need some TLC lol. i'll be in touch once i've saved up enough as I think it's gonna need a full rebuild lol. Still going to do it even though i'm planning on full access license in summer :D
Take it the guessometer are not that accurate then??? Mine does move but only a little bit.... Engine seems to get up to temp to touch. I'll find out soon if it heat seizes :-0
Does anyone know how hot the engine should be running at when its warm and just so that I know for future reference the temperature it would be if it was starting to overheat??
Running the vapor clocks on my RE so this info I could do with as shows what the actual temperature at the head is rather than a temp gauge
Cheers
(BTW Bikes running now, thank fook and MOT booked, Looks so good now and will update project thread when I get a bit of time and when i give her a clean and after i done a few lil bits here n there, Can not frickin wait to be back on the road :) Touch wood it all goes smoothly from here on)
About 180 degrees celcius inside the combustion area. 60-90 degrees just after the cylinder head. Don't know at the actual cylinder head. Expect the wrong side of 80. The dt runs very hot compared to most other bikes i've owned.
Mine is over heating a lot recently, need to fit a new sensor in to the head and see what temp it's running at. She's been drinking coolant so i'm guessing the headgasket has gone, again. Lasted a few months i suppose since that rad pipe perished due to old age and the head gasket went the first time. Need to check if the head is warped too.
