Carb pissing out fuel

finally got round fitting a better carb on my dt upgraded 2 mm fited it after a long process of starting it i noticed it was chucking fuel out of the overflow under the carb and at low revs cutting out but wen i hit the power valve made a big diffrence so really want to get it working :)

carb out- float bowl off, it could be the float needle isnt closing/sealing properly could be a bit of **** in there only takes one tiny bit of crap to wedge it open

yep, get a haynes manual

its got all the specs and tells how to check your float aswell

wen taking the bowl off it seemed like one of the floats were bent and no the the same hight as the other one i guess this would of caused this ?

could well do m8y there both meant to be the same height nothing should be bent check the float needle seal aswell

good way to check is to blow down the fuel pipe and slowly lift the float things till u cant blow thru the pipe any more u shouldnt need to put hardly any pressure atall on the floats to close the needle

finally got it to stop pissing out due to a bent float when fitted it will not idle just revs right up and iv tryed the ovi thing twist the tick over scre but still no good ?????

Is there freeplay in the throttle? I have put my carb back on before not realizing that the throttle cable had got twisted, and would just rev up. Worth a look.

yeahh checked everything like that its deffo the carb as i can chuck the old one and it fires stight up cant uderstnad why it would just rev right up :/ im thinking about bining it lol

you might have a little air leak

tighten the jubillee clip on the rubber manifold going to the engine, if that doesnt sort it then have it running and spray wd40 round the carb manifold and anywhere air might leak and if the revs start getting higher, youve found your problem

this happend to me once. I realised that i had put the carb slide in wrong causing it to rev its arse off. hope this helps.
