i found simply bearings expensive
i use ebay seller bearingseller for all my bearings and seals
just got bearings and seals delivered for £12!!
£17 each bearings phaaaa no ta
for the main bearings there thinner than std 1s arnt they, same as the drz 400 1 mm thinner
and a tenner extra in price
ill just get normal 6305c3's and run a sanding disc over them with the seals still in to rub 1 mm off

most of the suzukis and yammys use special sizes, its just a money spinner for them
the drz 400 main bearings from suzuki are £80 robbing ****s, so i always used 6207c3's and sanded 1 mm off £3.50 each proper savin !

yup they are well cheap, BUT and AND a bigger but. U be sanding for years. Thats hardened Steel you are going to wipe off. Even a machine shop quoted me stupid money to do this. Those bearings aint like chinnese metal.

17mm each, you wont close the case, trust me been there done that. Only way i see it is to machine the case halves by 1mm each side, then you can use cheaper bearings. But then u weaken the case halves. Wonder why YAM used these special bearings in the first place. But if u wana talk bearings, try these...lol

6305 Full Ceramic Bearing, that would be great!.. but the price!

ha ha yeah i no they are stupid money them arnt they...

iv done the sanding on  the main bearings 5 times on drz 400 bottom ends iv built for my self and mates engines and on cr 125/250's gearbox bearings as they use 1mm thinner it litrally takes 5 mins to sand them thinner with a  sanding disc on a minni hand grinder simples & loads cheeper

buy 2rs bearings rubber sealed and leave the seals in & sand away untill all the rubbers gone and just leavezs the steel shield do this on both sides  or lock some vernias off at 16mm and keep running the bearing through em ,gets hot tho and flat edges get razor sharp so handle with care

5-10 mins work £22 saving worth the effort

when u have 2 kids to cloth and feed you will do any thing the cheap way ha ha

smile

tho ceramics look mad, id be scared tht theyll just shatter n let loose the crank whilst its doing 12.000rpm! lol

tho they prob would last a long time, and urll never worrie about heat seizing them!

theyre alot lighter than metal bearings so the bearings spin easier and rev more freely

youll be able to do 12000 rpm without having to worry about them

yh theyll last forever with a bit of 2 stroke in the mix

just a question about those ceramics

if you use them could you sand the 1mm off the seal instead, it would definately work on the magneto side but what about the r/h side?

im having to replace the r/h seal so thought i might aswell change the bearings whilst its apart, ive got a bike that revs its tits off on choke and gearbox oil that smells of petrol and 2 stroke

no coz itz the width of the actual bearing races that are wider than the bearing recesses in the sases if u use them at 17mm the cases wont meet and seal or crang wont turn

oh right, thought the left hand race was the same size as the seal so could sit further in

dont see how it could happen on the right hand side

no mate i think the seal diameter is 48mm or some thing like that then the bearings are 52mm or bigger if you no a machinist u could have him machine the bearing housings 1 mm deeper aswell thats what i was going to do but **** get it done when i wantedsmile

theres a machinist at work and ive got access to a press

ill ask him if i could machine the ceramics down 500 microns on each side otherwise im going for some koyo's

did a bit of research and koyo are the only bearing company that make the 6305r1
