well had a good stab at the biatch 2day got loads done ! up at 5am and crackin bit nippy in the old garage tho ad to get the stove fired up

so after 2day every things redy for blast and powder coat 2moz that need soing so ill drop that in the mornin!

the cracked dash windows swapped, electrics tidyd up and sussed out (hopefully) ha haconfuse

barrel ported /case matched transfer ports, gross miss match on front corners! and general clean up still to finish tho when its been bored

im dropping the barrel off tomorow in donny for a  re-bore and new piston, gasket /seals

main bearings width reduced to fit,new little end ready saving £22 on oem

cranks still good

all the plastics chassis parts currently in the dish washer smile to the mrs delight ha ha

and found some old renthal fat bars under the bench so modded the top yoke to take them as others were only good for the bin

heres some pics

plenty more to come will keep u all posted

Don't want to piss on yer fireworks mate, but I'm concerned about the mod you've done to your handlebars, usually when fitting fat bars or twin wall renthals to your bike you need to add a conversion bar adapter (see pic of mine) as the normal bar o.d is 22mm and the fat bar/ twin walls are 28mm, plus you say you're a tall lad, so it also helps with the ride height, as they raise the bars a tad, so you wont be slouching down as much, and will sit straighter in the seat, nah if my lad had done that I'd have told him to bin those bars straight away, and to think himself lucky they didn't bend/snap on him whilst riding, as they'll be much weaker where you've taken the meat off them.plus if you get yersen into a nasty prang, insurance and bobbies go over stuff to see if you are at fault of the cause, and whether or not it is, they see that you've done that to the bars, they ain't payin out nowt.

Just my ten bobs worth mind.

now come on im not that daft ha ha smile

iv not touched the bars iv bored the clamping surface out!

and im more than certain it s not weakened any thing as iv done this before on previous bikes
hard going mx's cr 125,250,kx 500 all used on the track with big jumps and hard landings not always on 2 wheels either,

it  just used to bend the bars not break anything,

i dont see the point of spending silly money on mounting kits when it can be made to fit any way,and i no its been safe enough before with alot more stress put through it on the motocross bikes

yeah it may look good.

the top clamps pictured are only temp as iv got somme alloy blocks im going to make the final items out of i just wanted to get an idea of whet it would look like

ill take some side on pics so u all can see the alterations

smile

never noticed earlia just looked at the pictures them grind marks on the bars are just where i slipped off the yoke and caught the barsfurious

carbide burrs like to shoot off when they grap hold

the new upper clamps wil have 8mm longer legs so they will sit near enough flush with the yoke to get a proper bite on the knurled bar grip smile

thats the bar pad mate

i normally fit my trailtech vapor speedos in the top of them if i put aftmarket headlights on as it keeps things nice and compact

plus the bar pad is big enough
