more noob questions', here's some pictures of my spark plug, its in been the bike for around 130 miles and was took out after a long hard day riding (being mayday and living close to Hastings ;) took out about 20 minutes after riding hardish, doesnt look as good as it could, take a look and please give your feedback and reccomendations, im no expert but it looks like its running a bit rich, am i right?? :
(sorry for the poor quality, to describe it the surface looks a bit damp, and a lot of carbon build up it looks like on the top ring and a bit black a bit lower down) To help with your advice its probably got the original jet in it, some of the restrictions on the bike has been bypassed or removed such as: emmisions cleaner removed and pipes blocked, wire behind the clocks earthed to the battery (This is the re btw) and a Dep stubbyd silencer, thats all which has been done to it. much appreciated if you could give your opinion on how it looks and what to change if its not running as good as it should, thanks again, also will be gutting the exhaust either this week or next do i need to change my jetting for that anyway

Thanks lads.......So how would you say its running?? btw this is nothing to do with the earlier posts where it wasnt firing up or not running properly, that was where i didnt notice i didnt have any petrol lol..
The bike personally feels like its running fine, i just wouldnt mind you guys to give your opinion on how the spark plug looks, would like it running perfect but dont know how to tell from a spark pug if its running to rich or lean?? or any other way actually
Much appreciated if you could get back to me with your opinons and reccomendations, thanks
The colour of your plug isn't bad Reef, slightly rich but nowt to lose sleep over, its when its a grey/white colour you'd be needing to worry mate, as that would be telling you its too lean, and plugs getting too hot. You could try leaning off the mixture screw(the internal screw on the right of the two carb screws) a tad to the left, literally about 1mm, give it a run, bout 4-5 miles then check the colour of the plug again,
Sweet, thanks for that, will do when i next go out and i dont need a new plug to check how its running after doing that do i??, also would you say still go for an iridium spark plug buddy??
