well tomorrow i was planning on swaping the ehine from my 1990 dt for the same engine but 03 with just over 5000 miles !! im under the impression that i can chuck it in and it will work run etc as the looms 88-03 are the same is this correct as the last thing i want to do is take my current one the 1990 out and the 03 one nt work so any info will be help ful ???

Just need another stator from 01 to 04 3rm, check the cdi should be 3rm-20 / 3rm-30? in the 03 bike

and why wud i need a stator from a 01 to 04 surely the 03 engine has that as i want to put the 03 engine in the 1990 bike

Ah it has a engine / stator already? in which case just swap the stators

Sorry got the wrong end of the stick, you will probs need to switch the stator from old engine to new engine

yeah sorry if i didnt make it clear but the one it the 1990 engine the pic up bracket has snapped on the stator can the be swapped from the 03 ?

Should be fine just swap what you have on old engine to new engine

Oh make sure u use the old flywheel as there diffrent aswell

well not sure as iv never taken it apart all i kno last time i took the pick up solenoid off i undone one screw and it came out the the other half of the bracket still attached ? so its broken will the 03 bit fit in the 1990 bit i broke ?

well its not the that im worried about ith the bracket it sits on and the wires are white with blue strip nd a red strip

so the stator plate, a thin peice of metal that the 2 screws go into to fix the pic up
