right guys just thought i'd update this as i havent updated for a while...

I had a few issues with a few lost/knackered parts and have had to restrip down the top end and clutch to sort out powervalve and new clutch plates etc..

anyway, i popped down to NEV's place to pick up my loom as he was rewiring it etc for me and I must say - he done a Fantastic job on it!!

I said 3 months for the rebuild but it's now gone over the 3 months so will propably be more like 4 months... im hoping to have the engine fired up by wednesday/thursday at the latest...

I also decided to spray my Swingarm in the end to save a bit of cash but i've also now taken another spare swingarm to the powdercoaters!!!

anyway enough of the chat - heres a few pictures... including all my bolts (cheers Nev!!)

I also had to drill out a bolt from the clutch Boss as i over tightened it and the head pinged across the Garage!!

i've now replaced them with Allen Bolts!!

sahun thats the most ****test vid ive saw lol , bearing in mind guys the bike was smoking heavley as im cranked the adujuster right up on the cable as its all new inside , the tapping sound too be sounds like flywheel is hitting the stator mount bolts (we used allen key bolts in the end as the philps screws were **** and shagged as you exepct ).  anyway ive had fun helping shaun out with this build so far and have to take my hat of to him for how well hes done for a first project ,

hoping maybe we could get a forum meet up for the middle of the summer as it be good to see everyone elses rides as since i was last on here a few years back theres a lot more deication put into the dtrs now lol

nev mate the 4dl only ran 32M DELEBORTO  the 4fl ran a 28 mikuni flatty but also ran the 4fu flat top piston if youre gonna down the 4dl route use the 32mm or slighty bigger to get the best from the cdi as the its higher reving than the other tzrs bud

Right guys...

Was going to be uploading the pics of the finished project tonight but decide to trace a small amount of coolant back to the starting point...

Ive now located a small trickle coming from the thermostat housing pip..

My exhaust isn't seating right either.. There's a load of oil splatter around the joining point/exhaust point!!!

Any tips on sealing it?? It's a BigOne exhaust...

I've also noticed a small amount of fluid in the expansion chamber.. Looks a lot like fuel, it's only about 2ml..

Any other tips before I set light to the bloody thing!!!

Theres an 'O' ring in there that may want replacing is all, as for the exhaust, undo but keep all bolts in, so its all loose then try the end back into the manifold you have the 2 spring type yes, rather than the solid bolt on typecan be a pig to seat right, is metal gasket a good 'un?

Yep

New metal gasket...

It's the bit that the spring goes onto!! That slips into the expanny chamber, I'm guessing it will have to have time to build up carbon deposits...

The only other thing that's bugging me at the moment is the small amount of fluid in the expanny chamber... It's got a slight petrol smell to it, it's approx 2ml...

You'll need to learn to wheelie mate, that'll clear it for ya, lol

Nah pretty normal that mate, mine pissed out a right mixture of oil n petrol, & carbon sludge at first. keep an eye on it mind, make sure it doesn't get too excessive.

Elo mate, get some high temp silicon sealant and put a nice good smear in there and let it dry out really well before riding it ,gasket sealant is spot on for this, once it's all sealed up clean all the crud off the engine before it gets baked onYou can see if it's sealed properly if it's got fresh splatter there after a ride,oh and don't put the sealant in the end of the spanny cos u will just push it inside, put it rond the other piece so any excess is pushed out that way if u see what I mean

Now my project is 95% complete i thought i'd spend some more money!!

i've now bought a bar mount 720 HD camera for £50 inc P&P (Nevs Fault!!)

got a DTX front end on the way - Forks, Brembo's, rear caliper and the chap also has a decent swingarm in black so now in talks about that aswell!! SM will hopefully be done over the next couple of weekends.. just need the tyres so any donation's gratefully received!!!

Heres how it stands at the moment....

Heres some more parts i bought the other day... wheels, forks, cdi's, carbs, DT 4BL engine, TDR 4GW engine.. etc.etc - Both engines are complete with numbers..

And my little toy for the garage i bought - took 3 weeks to make, weld and powdercoat but a damn sight easier than kneeling or crouching down!!

The only thing left now is the graphics from D&D graphics...

Heres a sneak Peek... Thought it was totally different than the rest!!

heres what it looks like on the DTX

Looking good. Just had a quick look through!

Will have to sort out my project thread on here for my DTR.

I've not got much work in the next week or so, so should make some good progress. Race you to the finish? :P
