Sometimes when a head gaskets been replaced, it needs re-torquing after a few miles, it's possible yours may need this, either that or your head wasn't checked to see if it needed a skim due to heat warpage, did your last head gasket blow?

hello basically i changed my head gasket and replaced it with a gasket from http://www.yamahamotorcyclespares.co.uk/?source=google&gclid=CL-W05XE7a0CFUYLtAodFwy16g

its the black one. i went out to my bike other day and noticed that there was water around the head only a few little drops.

any idea why this is? or anything i could do had a lot of problems recently with water in oil

( trying to get bike M.O.T ready )

no worries mate every one has to learn ,i was the same like most people

this is a torque wrench

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-3-8-DR-5-80-FT-LB-TORQUE-WRENCH-TUV-GS-CASE-4PC-ADAPTOR-REDUCER-SET-/390367526400?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5ae3b7be00#ht_2925wt_1165

its got a sleeve on the end of it that you adjust to the scale on the handle mate

you set it to either foot pounds or newton meters

bit long but gives a perfect example

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpEzdgZxjKc&feature=related

if you loom in the manual it will tell you the specific tourge settings for all the size nuts on any machine

you tighten it until the wrench reaches its set amount and then clicks

so you no its done.

by heat cycles it means when you star ort ride your bike and it gets hot and then cools after when the engine gets hot things expand and move and seetledown after rebuilt so bolts may become loose or the wrong torque so after its settle everything has to be checked if that helps mate

Romeo, get yourself a manual mate, it gives you all the torque settings for the DT in there, you have torqued your bolts/nuts down haven't you?

It's not just a case of tightening up everything as much as you can, you'll see what I mean when you do come to torque them up, as to how much extra some stuff needs., or even how little you need to tighten up, in some cases.
