Reboring stock cyllinder, Realiability ?

Hey guys, Since im pretty dissapointed with my 170cc athena atm, i want a plan B for the summer. I already had my stock cyllinder rebored to 57.00mm And im wondering how reliable it will be if i bore it up to 57,50mm. Its seized atm thats why it needs a rebore.

So the question is, how reliable will it be if i rebore it to 57,50mm and make the adjustments needed on the powervalve so it doesent hit the piston ?

I live in norway, And im not that interested in selling it, Id rather trade it for a stock cyllinder then.

Its nothing wrong with it, i just cant seem to get it to be any fast.

back to the point, How reliable would it be with a rebore to 57,5 if i fix the powervalve so it doesent touch the piston ?

it will be fine good as new mate had loads of engines with over sized bores as long as every thing is sized to match it runs as std

most brands offer pistons up 2 2mm o/s

engines are bored out as a matter of course on service intervals

any thing over the bioggest oversize runs risk of siezing  due to the liner becoming to thin and canot dissipate the heat produced when running

Okay, Then thats my plan b, get the standard cyllinder rebored to 57,50. Put the 34mm carb on that cyllinder, with the gianelli exhaust.

But im hoping to get the 170 kit working as it should, Cant just give it up when i paid 450 pound for it ..

And if i did, my dad would mock me for a long time, he told me not to buy the 170 kit xD

Sorry guys, i dont remember, but gonna start dissasembling the engine to fit the new crank today, can check if the cyllinder is nicasil plated ;)

My dad thinks the 170cc isnt running as it should because it gets too much fuel, gonna try to adjust the carb needle when the engine is out of the frame ;)

think it is nikasil yeah when i was reading up on them somewhere about them i came across it.

i got a 125 barrel bored to +1.50 its been a diamond still good now. had some issues with another barrel an piston i had bored out to +1.50 but that one was my own stupid fault lol.

Okay, Then my plan b is to get my standard barrel rebored to 57,50 And maybe get one of those better tops, and see if i can get it to run good with the 34mm carb.

But my hope is to get the 170cc working as i want it, Hows yours going tripr ?. tried any wheelies yet ?

i did find i can play with the servo setting slightly  in the housing where there locator says its fully open

i was altering it beetween the two lines either side of it to for more low end or  high end power

Okay, What do you mean by this sentence " Mo carb and jets an that definetly a gain"

I dont get much of your slang or shortenings, But your meaning you didnt change anything about the carb ?. Same jetting and all like you had with the 125cc barrel.

I checked how the pv is adjusted by opening the cover on the right side of the bike.

And i found that it was about 0,5-1cm to the left of the hole that your supposed to adjust them after.

And when i was driving with my 125 barrel i found that it would be fastest if i had it about 0,5-1cm to the right of the hole.

So after the overhaul of the engine im gonna try adjusting them 0,5-1 cm to the right of the hole, + adjusting the carb needle, and hopefully this will make a change and i can do wheelies again :D
