hi peeps not sure if this is right area for intro's but i am new here & could do with a bit of help, siezed my 05 dtr & trying to fit a 02 engine generator wires are different & dont know how to sort out any help would be appreciated. 05 has 3 white wires from generator while 02 has 1 white 1 black & 1 orange & red where do these go? any ideas
hey m8 u need to find out what wires are doin what when the engine is running, to be fair trying to get pre 04 gens to work with the l8r loom is a bit of a nightmare coz the wiring is more complex on the l8r bikes, ur best bet is to try n get hold of a 04 onwards stator and cover, IF it will fit straight into the older engine? it would prob be easier to start again with bottom end from a dtrE/X supersteve might have one for sale ill give him a shout, let me know if ur interested tho, migh do u a deal for ur 02 bottom end?
