I'm here with you brother! The exact same thing happened to me. I was out shopping the other day and came back to my bike, i whacked the old ignition on, kicked her over and she backfired! Kicked her over 100 times more, just the same, nothing! No compression at all, i could push the kicker down with my pinky! I had to find the nearest hill and bumpstart her. Lol, that was fun pushing her up a hill!
Didn't even bother looking up the exhaust port, i stripped her down, looked at the piston and was like oh dear! The piston is in good condition just a lil carbon build up on the crown, and one of the rings has a section missing that had been burnt away! The cylinder is slightly scored also, so will need a rebore and oversized piston!
So check your Cylinder aswell matey! Hoperfully your piston/cyl is okay!
Gonna put on standard sprockets for running in this new topend for the first time ever (have a break from shorter acceleration sprockets) Tbh i think having short sprocket ratio is the main cause of my topend damage, because i'm literally always in the powerband in ever gear, first gear is a total joke revs to 12k and front end comes up! I think it's that and also the fact i've been on her out riding like every day since having her and i nailed her in the summer big time!
I might try and see if i can get the better cylinder tbh :)

took the dt out after putting new chain and sprockets on got to 70 and lost all power and cut out lost all compression now i can push the kick start down with my hand and it just back fires every few kick now sounds like the rings have gone
yeah thats what i mean mine just wouldnt start for **** ! just back firing lol i was gunna look for a better barrel and have it rebored not that long ago i had it done lol but i need to find out what its done first see what its done to the rings etc lol
