Crank bearings. Special bearings..

Was gonna assemble my engine today, Had got some c4 bearings that was supposed to be the absolute best for 2 strokes. 6305 or something was the number on the old and stock bearings. got some 6305 bearings from SFK. i asked my dad " have you meassured that their the same ? " and he was just " pfft. Their the same " and we put them into the engine. And we noticed there was a glip. like it was too far out. So we meassured the old one, wich was 16mm and then the new ones, they where 17mm...

The engine is made so that the bearings can go 1mm outside of its housing. and the housing is 15mm deep. So the bearing has to be 16mm.. did some googling now and found out the bearings are special made for the yamaha dt.

but i think the stock bearing is better than the ones we got anyways. When we beat them out of the engine again, They got bad and was rattling bad when spinning them around with my finger. One of the old bearings was still good after doing 40 000 km and getting beaten out of the engine with a hammer on the inner ring xD

Found a English mc shop on the web that sells dt parts. was 48 pounds for the bearings with shipping to norway.

gonna go to my local shop tomorrow to see how much they will take for it

went to my local motorbike shop

i asked them if they had any crank bearings and he goes he'll have to order them but they asked 25.00 each

he started talking about them being special bearings and i asked him if they are 1mm shorter in width but he said no they have a **** off radius on the edge so you cant use standard 6305 bearings or normally radiused bearings.

he drew pictures and everything, im a bit blagged because everyone on here says theyre just 16mm

If someone could let me know the O/D, I/D and the proper depth they should be, I'll ring a mate up in Derby, works for a bearing company.

Their supposed to be 25x62x16. what do you mean about a **** off radius ?

Its an all normal bearing, but the sfk didt have any in that dimention, they only had 25x62x17.

most yam and suzi use the thinner mains

iv always just got normal ones and sanded them down with a sanding disc on a small grinder works fine get the 2rs sealed ones and it keeps all the bits out while your doing it, just remember to pop the seals out 1st b4 building ha

done it on all the ones iv ever had and never had any problems

smile

Local bike shop to me(20 mins away) he stocks the 6305... You put 6205 in your post.. I've checked on wemoto and they are both 6305, I was told by a neighbour that the bearings are a different size but everywhere I look they are the same ones!!!

Yambits are 22.95 (I think) for the seals but that also includes the water pump and oil seals aswell!!

Right... Your right with the code 6305 BUT....

The correct bearing number is 6305R1

6305 is 25x62x17
6305r1 is 25x62x16
