warm up properly

no harsh exelerating

no land speed record attempts

do short journeys for first 300 ish miles

runs 99 octane fuel

be very carefull for the first 100 miles keep well out of the power band

when i ran my engine in, all i done was keep low revs and not ripping into the bike done this for about 200 miles then started going a little faster, checking my plug every few miles, must of done about 500 miles maybe less before driving like a clown again, but everyone has their own opinion..

I'm going to find it very hard riding sensibly as i ride my dtr flat out constantly so riding the wre gently is going to be very hard.

i know the feeling, running in my tzr at present, only done 200 miles, i disconnected the PV, so i cant be tempted in full throttle , bas ass nutty mode.

PS. mineral 2T oil only for 500 miles... NO synth oils..

the plating has to be removed then bored bigger then replated mate

then honed to spec

2t mineral oil for bedding in new rings, the particals in synths are too big for tight engines basically..The window for running in is quite small, 500-800 miles.thats the limit of the honing to ring bedding becomes less. This just gives a perfect seal, giving max compression ideally.

this is the stuff i use.

i have been told, chrome barrels dont need running in, special rings i believe. makes sence as they are not honed.

there not special rings there just chromolly steel alloys, i dont think u can use iron rings with plated cylinders, but all cylinders are honed to there finished spec, plated cylinders have to be diamond honed as the material is so hard
