Hey, I have been driving some this winter and i dont know about england but in norway they use salt on the roads to melt away the snow and ice, The problem is this converts our cars and my bike into a big pile of rust.
So now i have little pieces of rust everywhere ! , Whats the best way to just get rid of this ? The rust is just on the surface nothing deep. Should i just take a piece of sand paper and sand off the rusty parts untill i reach the steel and go over with a coupple fo strokes of some cheap paint ?
You can get ACF-50 on Ebay Nordt, also Loctite do a rust treatment, just paint over the rust and it turns it black, stops it spreading till you can do it properly.
I got some autosol, But does that work and is it ment to be used on the frame itself ? i have used it on the rims wich is chromed :P . I got something that sounds like that loctite, But it really didnt work as well as expected.
AC-50 sounds like some oil you use to lube the chain, but im shure im wrong xD
If your saying that autosol does the trick on the frame too and not just on chrome parts i could give it a try :P
Ok so im gonna sand down my swingarm, because of bad painting earlier and rust. and repaint it. How many layers do you reccomend ?. 2-3 layers of Sink paint ( some good stuff against rust ) And 2-3 strokes of black and 1-2 of clear paint ?
