Anyone tried fitting different brakes on their dt's as the standard one's are pretty shocking. Riding my mates wr125 earlier, the brakes are so much better, anyone tried fitting them? Not sure if they would fit or not but look fairly similar.

Cheers

If you want to Supermoto your DT then a front Brembo twin pot caliper will fit, either by changing the forks (DTX,TDR,TZR,)the caliper fits straight on, or by using a conversion bracket if wanting to keep the DTR forks , but if you want to swap back to Enduro set up, for off roading, you need to swap back to the single pot caliper again, as the standard disc on the DT is too small to take a twin pot, mind you if theres anyone out there who knows of a larger diameter front disc that fits the standard DT hub, I'd like to know so I can fit one for my DT Enduro set up, and therefore keeping the Brembo caliper on all the time.

Will the twin pot wr125 (enduro) caliper not fit then, looks pretty similar anyway. Would be nice to have brakes that stop you lol.

It may do, depends on disc size as well, does disc fit DTR hub? what size is disc in mm?

The extra you get from the brakes makes the forks seem sloppier, needs an upgrade in oil from 10w to 15ww, if too stiff mix both together in equal parts to get 12.5w

You've obviously never rode a 400 with drum breaks front and rear.. Let me just say that I slowed down quicker by dragging my feet on the floor lol

Nobody has fitted those iirc. You can be the first to try and let people know if it works, upgrading your lines will help and or going SM

you could easily make a bracket to fit the wr caliper

along with a few washers to get the caliper spot on

not much point on a dtr because the forks are so soft,

but if you change the forks for harder ones or put thicker oil in them

also use dot 5.1 and braided hoses,

Hmm, I'll have to try it sometime if my mate doesn't mind me borrowing his brake system lol. And the forks on the wr are just as soft if not softer than the dt's. And don't want to go SM, would be awful off road.

Tried riding a dt with only a front brake that's not beaded in yet and has virtually no stopping power and no engine braking lol? Wiped my mate out that day as well, still owe him a new clutch lever lol doh
