its pissing me off it was 140 quid labour on wednesday and he's done fack all because apparently i have a hole cut under my seat and a dep exhaust with the standard carb and jets it isn't running correctly so he ordered new jets on thursaday and got the top end working but is having problem with the low revs so he is going to fiddle around with the jet positioning

since i bought my bike for 950 had it for 3 months and spent 700 pound on repairs no point in selling it now

so i put my bike in the garage to fit my new carb on monday the 5th went in on wednesday and he told me he is having problems getting the mixture right and cant get it to run then i went in on the friday and he said he got the topend working but my low end revs still arnt good enough, went in today and he's on ****ing holiday and he is going to try again on monday so if he ripping me off thats going to be a load of labour and he still might not be able to do it

get your bike back m8 an tell him bollox i had the same trouble with a guy blaggin me sayin he was workin on it takin ages.. just buy another airbox housing if thats been savaged
the low end feel does drop a touch when you remove the snorkle so a big cut out will affect it more i think

jetting isnt easy, but at the same time its such a common bike with such a common mod (dep pipe) this shouldn't have taken long. Is he running the bike on a dyno to check jetting or just fiddling?

Its simple to jet your own carb. when fitting a dep pipe you should only need to change the main jet for a larger size, you may have to move the clip on the needle up or down to smooth things out but this should be an hours work tops

yea like said below

unless its on a dyno then it takes no time to change jets

but why are you paying some one to do it any way

it really is simple to do have some faith in ur self man ha ha theres nothing to changing jets its all in the manual mate

Yeah mate, he sounds like he's full of shi*. It's always best to try and buddy up with your local bike garages, make sure that they're sound boys and not some retard cowboys. It probably would have been cheaper to take it to one of us lads on the forum or do it yourself smile it's just trial and error with jetting, he sounds as if he's just had a little play inbetween other things and given up disbelief.

I'd just get back mate. Sort the carb settins out yourself. Save yourself the money. Plus that way you can get it setup the way you like it. AND at least you'll know what it's had done should you need to make any adjust.

I agree with NORFE as it is really is simple to do have some faith in ur self man. This is not a difficult task it can be abit time consuming in getting the correct jet but nothing more than that really. You will get a better feeling of satisfaction achieving things you have done to your bike yourself rather than paying others to do the work for you. Also you are getting to know & understand your machine alittle better by doing tasks yourself aswell as keeping some sausage (Cash) in your pocket for you to buy other things mate

yeah thanks guys in hindsight i should of just done it myself its not like its a engine rebuild, but its already happened i just wanna forget about it and get it back in fully working order i didn't realize the whole time i had it the low revs wasn't working i thought it was meant to be like that but obviously it was jetted wrong when i bought it, so it might be a completly different bike when i get it back.

bit offtopic but what products should i get to clean up and refurbish my forks there a bit rough and need a cleanup can you paint forks or will it just chip off?

1st thing i would of done is set the carb back to std specs all jets and settings then take it from there

iv put exhaust and filters on all my bikes near enuff and never had to rejet and bikes ran fine each bike is different tho so it is trial and error im afraid

more u do on ur bike more u learn and more money u save smile
