hey guys so my 1989 dtr has just had a piston change and all the gaskets changed after a couple of kicks she started straight up thought great that was easy then she kicked me in the ass by idiling at 5-6k rpm so shut her off and tried again still idiling at 5-6k ive tried the idle screw air screw just cant figure wht the dam problem is
Sounds a bit obvious maybe but have you checked the throttle cables not snagging anywhere if you've had the bike apart. Have you done anything to the carb as on a couple of occasions i've not got the slide seated in the carb properly.
Hows your gearbox oil level, smokey and not wanting to start would point me towards crank seal but someone who knows more about the dt engine than I do will hopefully have an opinion on that.
