So riding to ace cafe last night...just coming up to hanger lane roundabout and bike makes a bang...starts spitting rings out the exhaust. I'm on a dual carriage way and thinking...I'm seconds from complete failure lol. Manage to pull down a side road and as soon as I get to 10-20 mph...stalls and won't start...can hear there is just no compression. Pretty sure it's rings...will strip today.
Anyway I'm with a mate from pub...he sees a van waiting at lights and shouts to the driver, can you give us a lift to brentford!!?? Guy says sure! Im like sweet...gets better though, guy pulls out a ramp and has straps too! Polish guy, also has bikes (Yamaha bulldog) and is an absolute legend. Didn't ask for any sort of repayment...but I have him some bottles of beer and a tenner.
So I'm gonna start stripping today and will take pics, maybe vids and post in how to section :)
Deffo rings though right? Bikes done 13,500 miles on original piston/rings etc. hopefully wont need re-bore
damn not good, my mates DT is still on original piston and bore and just passed 14k, think ill advise him to rebuild (or atleast replace rings) before its too late.
but yeh, rings or piston imo.

depends how much if any damage the bits have made 2 strokes dont normally fail with no damage lol, bits of rings get wedged btween piston and walls and make a mess, plus make sure u get every little bit out of the bottom end and pipe !
