not having my DT running before going in to it with the spanners come to putting things back and thought while I was waiting for parts to arrive I would go through the lecy stuff and you think Oh **** no lights and then on hear some one says me lights don't work without the engine running , now that was a near miss , then I got it running stood in the corner going Ming Ming Ming and lo and behold the lights work bless its little cotton socks , but the oil light is staying on so off with the tank ,( NOW STOP LAUGHING,) and check the wires to the tank as I had had them off and no nothing wrong ( NOW LOOK I HAVE TOLD YOU ONCE STOP LAUGHING ) put the tank back on thinks to my self sod ot will have another look tomorrow come in have ing a cuppa and just flicking through the owners hand book and what does it ( OH NOW COME ON STOP IT!!! YOU WILL END UP WITH PAINS IN YOUR BIG FAT BELLY ) say put it in gear so rush out to the garage give her a kick pop it in gear like magic it disappears ,moral of the story READ THE BLOODY DISTUCTIONS ,says her with that look on her face ,you know the one ???( MEN , they never look think they know it all )
lol iv done it mate and when my bike was nicked i rewired my clocks and arfter about a week my nutral light was staying on in gear i was thinking ffs wtf has broken now spend a day traceing wires to work up i put the oil light one in the neutral place and the neutral one in the oil light place XD thank fook for that haha
We've all done something similar When I first got my DTR I had it on the side stand kicking it over in gear with the clutch pulled in.. Slowly released the clutch and it kept dying, in the end I rang my mechanic and as soon as I said all that he said "is the side stand down, okay then bye" I was like "WTF" kicked stand up and started the bike again and to my amazement it worked!!
But I think the oil light showing up in neutral is a safety feature so you actually know the bulb works each and everytime you ride
