Hey, I once seized my cyllinder because it had a too small jet, and i pushed the engine too hard for a long time with a passanger. (Worst case scenario ??)
But my question is, If the engine has a too small jet. The engine will still be very hot before it seizes right ?. I have no temperature gauge, But if i did got one, I would be able to tell that my engine was about to seize before it did that time right ?.
Bechause im wondering if the friction only makes the piston itself hot wich makes it seize when the jet is to small, But this doesent make much sence really since friction makes the temperature rise ? xD.
But eventhough, I want to be shure that im thinking right when im thinking that if something similiar happends again i could tell it before it happends if i get a temperature gauge ?
temp guage is always a good thing to have, if it starts going over 3/4 of the way or in to the red its time to have a rest i can give mine a complete thrashing for 30-40 mins and it dont get no further up the scale than about a 1/4 way i run hgv coolant 100% no water mixed

wikid coolant!
Haha, Cool m8 :D. Whats the temperature at then ?.
im gonna get a temperature gauge when i get the money, I forgot to turn in the paper on how many hours i worked last month so i wont get any pay untill next month ..
But that didnt exactly answear my question.. The engine does get hotter before it seizes if the jet is too small, Wich has happened to me earlier ? right ?
Whats the temperature the engine is in danger of overheating / seizing ? 110-120 ? the temperature gauge im looking at is mainly for cars i think, Atleast its in the car instruments category. And its 52mm wide.
My engine temp sits at 60/62 degrees, before I skimmed the head i was 20 miles from home and my engine temp was reading 170 degrees, didn't seize up but I had to stop and get picked up. Not good. Not sure how long that would have lasted but didn't wanna risk it anymore.
Okay thanks supersteve, 170 degrees seems insane xD What would you consider to be a dangerous temperature, the gauge im looking at has a red area above 100 degrees.
Bought a temperature gauge yesterday, gonna mount it up as soon as i get the chance :D
But norfe.
Is it good to run on all coolant no mixed water ?, aint there any reason to mix it with water like normal ?, does your bike get the proper temperature for the engine to run on even though or is your engine always a bit too cold ? :S
or is it just harder for your engine to get too hot ?
