looks nice man and the porb about it not hiting power band might be because its got the yx exhaust on it and the back pressure hasent be optimised for the dt engine

the exhaust wont make it "not hit the valve"

that exhaust should make it run better if its the yz pipe as there a really good design and willl get some more power out the motor

id check for ignition problems or fueling problems

put a new plug in it set the carb to th manual and start there

it may be sumet daft

geep us posted on how u get on pal

looks well tho

id have it, like i said ull get the good strokg chassis and a reliable engine !!smile

cheers guys, it is defo the exhaust mate theres no back preasure with the yz exhaust as it hasnt got the bend in it like the dt pipe has there is a ktm that uses asimilar engine tothe dt andmymate boughta pipe of one of them fitted it and it hits powervalve butthere isntenuff clerance between the exhaust andthe tank so im going to get both the ktm and yz exhausts made in to one decent exhaust its running a yz85 carb aswel wich needs upjetting

what size carb is that then ?

I thought they were smaller than 28mm, so will be starving it like mad if it is lol thought they were bout 25mm

cant see it really being the pipe, my mates got a tzr thay he built in to a dune buggy and its got a yz 125 pipe on it and it runs and revvs like fook rite lil beauty lol

arent to sure on the size mate im thinking about just buyingadtr carb and puting that on it not to sure yet as il be pinning the powervalve once the exhaust is sorted and will need to run a 240 jet and im not sure if u can get a 240 for a 85 carb

toys right about the exhaust, still will run ok but, all 2 stroke exhausts are calculated in sections of the pipe, bore x stroke and angle of the crank when pistons crown is below or above the inlet and exhaust ports, yep complicated stuff 2stroke pipes,

nice bike thoughsmile

thats what the power valve does optimise the pressure in the exhaust for best preformace if the pipe isent as big or 2 big it could have to much pressure and not letting it kick in or not anuf not leting it kick in

i think mnnn very nice m8 swap ya lol. generally its something electrical m8 when mine stutters instead of powering up its usually the ignition coil coneections or something along that part of the bike.

also just an idea i know its a yz pipe but your pipe looks the same kinda design as the bigone front pipe without the curve your on about, an on the dt with that zuast the power didnt work till the bike was well an truly properly warmed an it was right late on in the rev range compared to the gutted standard one.
i used to think it wasnt hitting the power like you say but once it had warmed up enough to reach those 9 10 11 an 12000rpm it worked nice although still to late on up the revs for me

do you use a servo on it or a pegged pv m8

pv's note to do with the pressure's toy, all the valve does is varys the exhaust port timing related to the engine rpm to get the best out of the rev range, but the specific design of the exhaust is what determines the amount of back pressure returning to the combustion chamber just b4 ignition

thats also why 2 strokes have different tuned lenth's & shape pipes to match the kind of power the used wants

smile

It is probably the exhaust causing your trouble put a normal dt 125 exhaust on. And what is the plate off ? Has he road registered the YZ frame and put a DT engine it for some reason ? or just put a DT number plate on the yz frame lol ?

Thats wierd cuz they never made a Yz 125 road legal from factory... And well you need a Dt exhaust all be it a dep, arrow, big one, doma anything to sort your problem.. I would keep a look out for a Yz engine and put that back in, it has way more power
