Anyone got any tips or magic tricks 4 removing 02 flywheel cos its not threaded like older models n like title says its a tad stuck. Ive removed 19mm nut n spacer off shaft, got a small piece of steel plate and drilled 4 holes, 3 in q triangle n 1 in middle, ive got a bolt n nut going thru middle outover wiv bolt head against shaft n nut against plate, then screwed bolts thru each of other 3 holes into flywheel then using 2 spanners wind nut off center bolt against the plate which is tbolted to flywheel to try and pull flywheel off, but dam thing wont move at all, infact its that tight its ended up chewing the steel plate up twicce lol dam thing, never had this problem b4 cos other engine was older type wer u just screwed normal puller into lefthand thread on flywheel, need it off to change crank seals so any advice greatly appreciated cheers

give it a good blast with a blow torch around the centre
then apply force with the plate puller and give it some good taps all around the outer edge, shock will make it loose dont hit on the magnito its self just the weight on the front

yeah that will be same as mine altho u mah have to grind the end of the legs to get in the groove behind the front weight as theres not much room to grab hold of !smile

dont forget to heat and tap

and put some copperslip on the crank when re fitting

Yesssssssss thank the lord and creater of big hammers heated it up as said and attacked it with puller but still wouldnt budg was that tight i stripped the threads on puller, so tryed again bit more heat tightened puller to point wer threads went had to put a spacer between puller n crank cos knackerd thread anyway wen it got bar tight i took a big hammer and whacked the centre bolt of puller, second whack n it flew off wiv almighty bang, bloody thing almost broke me fingers wen it came off lol just waitin for me seals to come in post, got cheaper ones from same place as t£4,60 each posted not sure if i shud spent extra n get the others after what happened with coil?? Well fingers crossed ill update 2moro after fit seals.
do i just dig old ones out wiv a screwdriver norfe m8????

yes mate tap a long sharp flat blade fru the left one, the right one u can pry out once the bush is out

make sure the right seal is the right one, its a double lipped viton seal alot thicker than any i could buy with just rubber no coating

iv bought 3 so called (dtr crank seal) from off ebay and non are right ones, so i went with genuine

no point putting one in theat will last a few days may aswell go genuine pal save the hassle

!smile

oh dear....did u make sure there wasnt some thing stuck to the inside of the rotor magnets !

i put mine in a box once and a bolt stuk to the magnets , and it wouldnt go on all the way and it chewed up some of the stator coils like a bell end lol

if the seals not in flush with the housing in the cases it wont seal so you will have wasted time re building it,if ur gonna do it..do it right once lol!

you will need an earlyer cdi if ur gonna put the earlier stator on aswell !
