mines 02 and its plenty fast enough will cruise at 70mph and hit about 80/85 down hil

just put a bigger front sprocket on so hoping it will be abit les stress on the engine when its out ha

how fast is yours like?confuse

no dt's ever had a manifold restrictor, its an air guide, your bike probalbly needs a full engine tune

With a full DEP, I'd be looking at a #240 main jet, is yours still the standard #210? Have a 32mm carb on mine with full DEP, works well for me. the misfiring sounds like flywheel could have surplus movement, take the cover off, and see how much play you have.

was had a derestricting guide for the dt

it had loads of tips about the small changes after aprox 2000 with new eu regulations regarding speed .

it kinda said change exhaust-cdi- ect ect ect swap them all for older model parts such as the 89

even read some where there is a dummy bulb type thing in the clocks that is linked to the cdi that is also a restriction ?

tbh I have never owned any dtr-kmx ect that was made after 1999 but know my mates have .. and they say 60mph tops on those bikes ?

I know I have had 90mph out of a standard kmx and dtr pre 200 models

lmao quite funny fella but to be honest how can we help from "Y are 00-03 dts so much slower than the earlier n later models rnt they the same engine?" normally when someone ask's a question like that the old red and purple power bands get brought up sooner or later so i decided to bring it up mainly to see what you would say and if its worth trying to help or am i going to get the old no my red powerbands are perfect you are wrong witch i have gotten in person from a few mx riders (haha ideots with a cr 80 who thinks there the mx champ)

now a 270 seems a bit high have you got the snorkel on the airbox on or off and have you checked your air filter and changed the plugs also have you checked the power valve is working properly as in taken the powervalve case off and checked the wheel is aligned and the cables are tighten correctly?

btw mate sorry for acting like a dick but it happens quite alot

I use a red one myself, got it setup right by my local garage. They have a really impressive 2-smoke expert there, that deals with YPVS stuff in specific.

Nah mate the 2-smoke tuner said the red one is actually the best performance wise, and it matches my colour scheme with my red seat/graphics.

The guy at my local 2-smoke tuning said that the red/black powerbands are the best. Got more torque at lower end and better mid range. Said you lose the power at the top but you could always change gear?
