Full bottom end rebuild kit?

Wish I had seen them before I used yambits!!!

Although yambits will be cheaper for the complete engine seals kit.. There's is about £22 for the complete seals...

Make sure you get koyo 6305R1 crank bearings as they are 16mm and the standard are 17mm and won't fit!!

Your looking around the £200-£300 for the complete rebuild depending where you get the parts from etc.. I would recon the crank.. If you wanted to buy a new one then it will sett you back about £110-£120

Does anyone supply a whole kit; bearings and gaskets etc. Or can anyone list a few sites or companys who supply the parts at a good price? Is it also worth buying a new crank or recon your existing? confuse

Cheers

Cheers guys. The thread on the drive end of my crank is wrecked so I may awsell buy a new one, could buy a second hand one then recon but will probably work out about the same. Also NORFE, do you remember my vibration issue? I worked out what it was, when the crank gear nut came off the woodruff key moved meaning the gear that feeds the balancing shaft stopped spinning resulting in the engine being out of balance... causing the vibration. I then fixed the gear by welding the nut on and replacing the key but the damage must have already been done and an enthusiastic ride out killed the big end bearings.

depends how mechanically minded u are mate

its simple really just have to follow a manual  and get the parts

nothing to them really these small engines

if your in doubt take photos as your stripping it always helps

more you do your self the more you learn and the more satisfaction u get when doing it!

no point paying some one to do some thing you can do your self just need to have some faith lol smile

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DT125R-con-rod-kit-DTR125-big-end-small-end-con-rod-DTR-125-FAST-POST-/350532020840?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item519d562a68#ht_500wt_969

I am ultra SLOW! I snap most things I touch. I cause more problems than I solve lol. But I'm up for giving it a go to be honest.

just find your self a knackered bottom end to strip and build practice makes perfect most mx 2 strokes bottom ends are the same, just difrent parts/designs

i know they advertise them DTR/TZR crank...

the issue i know of them is the TZR has a smaller stroke than the DTR - or the other way round...

Im sure someone like Norfe will be able to confirm this!!

Fook me NORFE that is a fair point! Lol. I went for a walk thinking about how I was going to do this. What I came up with was to go to a scrappy and buy another DT engine (Plenty there) and ride it with that whilst I work on mine. But WTF haha your idea makes much more sense lol. Just buy a scrappy DT125RE engine and build that one brand new. Then swap it over for mine. Then go ahead and rebuild mine. Spares lol.

No but seriously thats a good point actually. Think I might do that. One day. When I've got a job.

tzr & early dt's stroke are 50.0 mm (1.97 inch)

dtr 3rn1 onwards stroke are 50.7mm (2.00 inch)

so the difference is verry minimal

you could match it with a thinner/ or thicker base gasket !

biggrin
