I went past a cop car today no handed & had no mirrors.. i thought he'd pull me over but i was lucky!! Just wondered if it was illegal to have no mirrors?
Oooooh look at Granty with a shiny big dep ;) And yeah apparently it is, but a lot of police dont bother with it, i hate mirrors but just have underbar mirrors tucked out of the way for mine, shoulder check everything anyway. Just using the mirrors to check if my hairs okay :p

The police say you shouldn't take your mirrors off, but that's just from a road safety point of view. I've had various bikes MOTed in the last 5 years without mirrors and never received any failures or advisories because of it.
its not a mot requirement so its not not a legal requirement i dident have any for months i was pulled he said to me that i needed him i said no i do not and i think you should know the law if you are trying to inforce it i got a have a nice day and he went haha but no hands is a offence and is 3 points for dangerous rideing as your not in controll of the vehical apparently my mate got done cos he was pulling his gloves up =0 and he took it without asking question 's i would of told them to sling there hook lol
but i thinks thats why iv never had anything pined on me cos i dont take no **** and do not admit anything haha
Yeah most police where i live must not really care! i think the ones in shrewsbury town don't like bikers at all & try to find things illegal to get them done! but glad i live in country, i haven't been pulled yet mind you they've seen my have my hands off the handle bars to take the choke off & also seen me redline down the roads, I'm glad i don't live in london cause i know i'd be pulled lol! fused 420! yeah you gotta have chaingaurd, indicators & mirrors & peggs with a passenger on, strange? but kinda makes sense to be a extra little more safe Cheers for comments guys :D
Some of the things are a bit weird, my old one passed MOT with no foot pegs but my brothers rs wouldn't because it was classed as two seperate seats and needed foot pegs :/

police are fine in shrews dude! I've been pulled doing ridiculous stuff and got warnings each time when they had more than enrich proof to give me 3 points!
Don't need mirrors, indis, even lights lol. The only thing you need is a horn a speedo (will pass mot without though lol) and a number plate. But yeah like norfe said can't have the switch there if not fitted. Saying that my te510 passed with the light switches still on it and no lights.
me and my mate go pulled over him on his husky 250 he has day time mot no lights indi's brake light lol he has a number plate and horn thats it no speedo the police said its not illegal not to have a speedo the bit that is illegal is speeding as you are unaware so if he is with me and i stick to the speed limit and so does he then it is fine
What about a kill switch? Just my DT never came with one but my other one did, if it's anything like cars these days if it was there as standard (especially safety devices) then it normally fails I just don't know if it ever came with one and if it got removed
I thought you had to have a chainguard if you have a passenger on the back? But then if you didn't fair enough but if the passenger had shoe laces loose.. their foot would know about it lol! Strange how cops up here are so unlevel'd! ahhh nath true but roger knows some in shrewsbury town that actualy hate bikers! i think older police officers are more strict with people then young ones but young ones will pull you over without knowing the law & try to get you arested for something that's not even illegal hahaa! At the moment my speedo drive is not working, not sure why but an eletric speedo helps :) Just need to fit it on!
i read somewhere its perfectly legal to have no mirrors, but having one is :/ think that might have changed though. and re the indicators etc...if the bike is dual purpose ie an off roader you dont have to have them...but you do if there iss switches for indicatorrs etc and if you have rear footpegs
