Okay so i thought it was about time i start this thread since ive got my headlight today and new vapour clocks fitted. I don't know if you could call it a proper project, more like a work in progress maybe?

As i don't have a job i can't do this how i wanted and get it all done at once, so i will slowly update this thread as i get my parts when i can afford them smile

Will be taking alot of pictures for anyone thats interested

Here's the bike when i got it (forgot to get a good picture)

CameraZOOM-20120325182236627.jpg

CameraZOOM-20120528175624675.jpg

if i remember, that headlight only had 1 light selector.. lowbeam, so will only be good for daylight use... not sure if you can get double filiment bulbs in it tho, i never did look/try, i sold it 2 days after to get night time legal one, had no damn plugs either, hadda manually wire it all up, which also could have been why i never had a high beam also?

you'll just have to fiddle about with the wires, you cant really do no damage, just make sure you find the earth one first, that way the lights will work when you're connecting cables, else you'll end up like me standing around for 4 hours fitting them together, undoing them etc etc, and wondering why they're not working at all, untill i had a light bulb moment (the earth wire touch the frame :D) and realised it wasn't earthed

aye single filament, so mot failz due to having no high beam. (description would say dual fila otherwise) if yous can get dual filament bulbs in it and it passes mot let me know, cuz i'd want to get these back on mine, and as I ride in the night, I need that high beam =D

well i got this headlight after watching fragmasterkarl's video and he has high beam on his but he changed the bulbs

http://www.rpamx.co.uk/acatalog/Acerbis_DHH_Headlight_.html

he said he got the pencil and flood bulbs on there, seems a little expensive to me tho

By the looks of it you have the same bulb arrangement as my headlight.

The way I wired it up was one to the dipped beam and other to the sidelight, sounds a bit weird but this is the only way I could think to get one bulb on with the sidelight and both bulbs on with low / high beam

If this actually means it's brighter or not I have no idea as when both bulbs on it just shares the brightness... won't pass mot but will see what it's like in the dark

If you want better cheap bulbs just search mr16 on ebay (if they are the same for you) - I have 35w ones now I assume they are brighter but didn't want to run more in case it burnt the wiring out 60w ones may be alright though.

that's the headlight i'm using now, and i've got low/high beam on it, i've got HID Xenon bulbs with conversion kit, not very expensive mod for something nice and bright

You need to upload the picture to a hosting site if you want them to show mate

DTcraze - can you explain how you did this? I am very interested but I have mine wired up so either one - or both bulbs are on but neither are that bright.

I sent a pm to eg explaining how I did it but it isn't the best, simply just putting the voltages from the standard H4 plug to the lights but hi / lo beam doesn't affect anything they both have the same brightness

Would having a higher wattage bulb in one make it brighter than the other one? Only easy thing I can think of.
