Nice one, aye we had to get our codings when working on the power stations, as the board wanted fitter/welders or plater/welders,, to stop blokes tossing it off for half hour, whilst welder did his business.

lol my eldest daughter was best welder in a class full of lads at her college C&G motor mechanics course, she often helped out as a kid in the garage, nice to keep eye in these days mind, takes about 4 times as long to do stuff though, as ill health put a stop to me doing it full time, a fair bit ago.

Sorry to hear that fella,so u know all about destructive/non destructive testin etc, bombarding with waves etc? That stuff always interested me,seen some off it first hand ,bloody brilliant, I used to make safes for a living after 20 odd so as you would know yourself all pressure tested etc (nothing like the pipe regs tho), Was on a shutdown once and this guy had his head taken clean off coz pipework was routed wrong (hot n cold hit the same valve from either side and exploded) the whole site was shut n cost the company millions

3 oil drums, 8 cans of black ht spray, about 12 cutting discs, 2 grinding discs, 6" pipe, 4" pipe, stainless bolts n nuts, box section and angle bar I already had, 6mm ss bar, and ss grill mesh I already had too, so probably about £200-£250 plus time, made another one a while back for my 40th, but my mate bought it for his hotel. Oh aye and a **** load of welding rods.
