I don't know just how much info you need dude,520 is the chain size,428 is standard chain size, you are swapping it for a chunkier chain so u gotta change yer sprockets too,if you already know this just send me a digital slap or summet the lads will sort it 4yer.......be aware you will be adding weight to the drive train and it can sap power from the bike,+ more unsprung weight can effect the handling ,is it a sumo set up ur going for ?

It makes me laugh, when i had my aprilia and was on aprilia forums, they were all doing the conversion the other way round and changing to 428...to save weight
I am struggling to understand why people are wanting to go about it the opposite way, and adding unnecessary weight?
do you have to buy the sprocket and chain seperate cant find a kit as such sprocket is 28 and chain is 43 thats 71 quid bit pricey for a thicker chain i think

428 is well enough ,it's the cheap shizz chains that stretch,my bike is 22 years old and still has the chain from the factory ok it's had it's day now but I've got the exact same one brand new to replace it with ,you can't save money by buying a cheaper chain ,even a 520 chain will stretch unless you buy a top notch one like heavy duty DID etc ,me mate dan had 520 on his Chinese piece of poo and he was replacing them all the time even tho the bike was slow and had no power ,never scrimp on a chain it's a waste ,if your goin for the 520 make sure you get the expensive one/branded one or like toy said you'll be replacing it in a couple months
Alright lads, looking to do the 520 conversion asap but as always need your help, from looking above it looks as easy as just buying 2 '520' sprockets, i.e. both front and back, and a 520 chain, but after calling band express to try getting the rear from them and getting it anodized when i gave them the part number of the rear renthal sprocket
they said it wouldn't fit and that i would need part number "131b/520/50" as the one i thought i needed is made for solely a honda?? i thought the sprockets were universal and as long as if you had same pitch to the chain thats fine?? lol
Appreciate if someone could advise me which one i need, as getting one or the other anodized through them as well so don't want to pay out and then realize one doesn't fit. not sure if i trust what they said over the phone lol
Doing this conversion myself and going for a renthal chain - any ideas how many links it'll roughly need to be? Think i'm going to use a 13 tooth front sprocket and 46 tooth rear one.
