Well done that man, finally sorted ey? you staying local or coming over this way? I'll fill tank up with pre-mix if you are. I'ts looking like its going to stay nice for the rest of today.
Lol. You need to take your bike somewhere different.
My chain was literally hanging off the wheel and it passed with no advisories lol. O and the Swing arm is squeaking like ****!
Calum I was thinking about that but being down here in tractor country there's not many bike places..
I was stitched up with the guy who done the rebore so wasn't prepared to take it to him..
There's 2 in Exmouth, one is really expensive and really picky soo I'm glad I chose the one I did..
In the end I bit the bullet and got all the work done at the place I took it he spent a total of 6 hours on the bike, including clutch new reg/rect and I supplied all the parts apart from the reg/rect..
And yes it cost me a bit, I managed to get a cash price rather than book price which helped a bit!!!!
How good is that first ride when you have finaly got them two bits of paper ? who would have thought that two bits of paper could make such a difference ? spot on
Let's just say I rode to my parents and back to the shop!!
The bloody clutch problem has reappeared!!
Went back to the shop and the chap removed clutch cable, took out the clutch arm and there seemed to be a wear mark on it.. We put a screw driver down the clutch arm hole and there was something sticking out..
The diagnosis now is the inner pushrod is bent!! Luckily I've got another one so fingers crossed!!!
not likely never in all my time have i seen a bent one, theres only about 1mm clearance round the rod so no where or how for it to bend so i dont think it can be bent....
so whats it doing just going slack after some short time of opperation?
has it got a new clutch in
not much can go wrong tbh its a simple set up a lever 2 rods and a bb
what point are the adjusters on the top and bottom of the cables
has it got a newish cable on it?
R the lock nuts on the bottom clamp loosening and the locknut backing off slackenting the cable
i cant think for the life of me what it could be??????
the pust rods in 2 halvs aswell and moves about on the bb bathed in oil so no way it can bend really, the actuator arm do wear but it wud be slack all time not ok then go soft
is the lock nut tight on the clutch pressure plate and not winding its sen undone is it?
You on about 16 & 17 http://www.YAMAHAscooterspares.co.uk/spares/epc2.asp?modelID=9132&PageiD=13&m=YAMAHA+DT125R+++1999+CLUTCH&uID=0
It's all tight..
I got about 3 miles and it went tottaly slack, adjusted cable at lever 3 times until couldn't adjust it any more, the biting point is with the clutch lever right in... There's no further adjustment...
It's a bit strange there's we're marks on the Flat edge of the clutch arm #24..
I'm guessing there's no way the BB can fall out when in there??
Bloody thing is doing my nut, at this rate it'll be up for spares on eBay an here!!!!!
I think norfe's right ,on the pressure plate is the lock nut for the clutch push rod and on the casing near the actuator arm is a mark(a line) that needs to line up with the arrow (on the arm) when pushed forward gently by hand ,even if it's tight but not adjusted properly it will do this, good luck man

no number 19 in 20 n 21, this adjusts to take up slack in the clutch
bloody DT clutches, mine was the same, all i did was adjust the pushrod coming out of the casing managed to sort it, went through 2 cables and 2 gaskets before working it out! nightmare
I reckon its that Coastie, remember when I came round that time, and you undid that front centre locking nut? and was unsure as to how it was set before.
Just a quick update, spoke to shop and he said it was all setup correctly before he got it so he cant work out why it failed on way to him for the first MOT and yesterday..
He's taken out the BB and pushrods, turned the inner rod around and now going to take it for a spin to see if it does it again..
One thing I thought of, I bought new clutch springs and clutch plates do it can't be that, unless they were slightly different size??
The chap took all the clutch apart, took the BB out and he had to suck out the inner pushrod with a syringe!!!
There was a bit of wear on the inner rod so he turned it round and tickety boo it's running, he took it out for hour run to see if done it again and it's all fine!!!!
I've got a spare inner pushrod if I get complications again!!!
Had a lovely ride home, now for the rest of the running in!!!
I'm on call now for the lifeboat until tomorrow afternoon so it's a good excuse to get the bike out!!!!
I think I've landed on my feet now, just put in a few offers for things for my bike and fingers crossed will be getting the bits over the next week!!! Hopefully the next stage of my build!!!
