iv used 1500 to 2500 on panels the 2500 doesnt quite come up as shiney as original but its close also mr sheen works well spray an leave it to dry in all the scrapes an they look a lot less visable

them big ones in the front fender sand out as much as possible if our still not happy just whack a 5 quid bridgestone fender sticker over it

It wasn't that bad, was riding up cannock chase in the dark and turned into a car park at around 10mph. Over the years clearly the gravel from the car park has been spilled onto the road and no one has cleared it back - fine for cars but lethal for bikes. The rear end just slid completely with no warning.

Even walked up to it afterwards to see and it was like walking on marbels nearly fell over again blankstare Didn't help it was dark, if it was light I may have seen it and been able to avoid it.

Anyway my front fender and handguards and badly scratched, was planning on wet sanding them down and polishing them back up. Any advice on this? Got loads of grades of paper so going to see if I can make it any better but may need to get a drill attachment or something.

No idea what polish to use either.

240 grade wet n dry with t-cut will get those scratches out Harry, finishing off with 1000 grade wet n dry.

Cheers Nev do you mean use the T cut as the lubricant or after the wet and dry?

as the lubricant, when all the scratches are out use t-cut with a cloth, then buff up with a dry one.

I will give it a go with whatever I have, can't end up looking worse anyway :)

Not really into aftermarket graphics unless it's a full on motocross bike, like the oem sort of look :)

New fender is around £15 anyway so isn't the end of the world if I did get a new one, just isn't the right time now absolutely skint

That's nothing lol, should see the war wounds on my bike haha. If you're that bothered about it though I'd just get new one's tbh for the price of them.

Did the same thing on my husky once though, except it was like a mossy path, put the power on and the back end just slid round.
