So this is my DT200WR. I bought the bike in pieces a year or so back for the sum of £110 from a local guy who was more interested in british bikes. His son had bought it with the intention of rebuilding it but for some reason gave up and wanted shot of it.
It is a project for me and will be put on the road when I get around to it. I'm currently working on the DT125R but will get to this next.
Yeah I know what you mean about the potential. I feel guilty having not got it done yet. I've got everything here I just need to get around to it.
Already bought the tail tidy and indicators. New wiring loom, cdi and servo incase needed. Replaced the broken airbox. I've never got it running. The last time i worked on it I got to the stage of trying to start it and got no spark. Hopefully it wont be too long!
I will need to get the seat recovered but really need to get the mechanical bits sorted before i sort out the cosmetics.
The pipe came on the bike. I assumed it was the same as the DT125 until recently. It's in really good condition too. Are the photos on that site just representation or are they the actual pipe? It looks very different to the one on my bike.

Ha, would love to help out but then id be stuck without an exhaust for mine when i get mine running! I've been trying to source a standard pipe and have been waiting for a call back from someone for ages who has 2 spare standard dt200wr pipes.
dont swap your exhuast m8 their the same just a little diffrence in shape to fit frames you wont get any extra power i run my dtr 200 on a dtr 125 dep and it runs great and if you look on dep.com the 89 dt200 shares the same pipe as the 89 dt125
well all 3 fit each other and theirs no gain at all just the wr 200 brakets are in a diffrent place and if you look at the dt200r project on here the dude fits a wr200 fmf front pipe to a dt200r which has the same port as the 125 so if wat ur saying is right then it woulndt of fitted/made the bike run poor

This is a DT200WR not a DT200R they are very different bikes. I also thought that the exhaust port was different to the DTR barrels.
As for the power, I've never run the bike. It came to me in pieces and I put it together and other things took priority. I did try start it once but got no spark. I've got a spare loom and CDI to try out but need to have another go soon. It will be once this DTR125 is complete though.
to look at yes engine wise no dt200r 3et 33bhp dt200wr 3xp 33bhp the 3xp has a longer 1st gear 2mm bigger carb 2 extra ports a nikel plated barrel and a diffrent right hand engine cover with no oil pump and is only a little bit quicker off the mark than the 3et
the portings completely different and probably compression and the clutchrod arm is on the clutch cover, some dt200wr had autolube, the dt200wr is the road legal version of the wr200 i think and the wr200 can also be road legal ,
As you said TOWIYD the WR and DT200R were also slightly different. They had different CDIs and carbs. The DT200WR runs a 28mm TM the same as the later DTR125s but the WR200 used the mikuni tm30ss same as the lanza i believe. The WR also used a plastic fuel tank and the DT200wr had a metal one. As you say the WR has different gearing which is where the WR comes from. Wide Ratio I am told.
I think mine is a bit of a combom between a DT200WR and a WR200. I think that at somepoint the engine was swapped as the engine shows no numbers just "3xp" and it currently does not have the auto lube fitted.
The seat is quite different from the 125 and as Nev says if you were going to swap i think you would need the 200 tank but then the plastics etc etc would be an issue. I can get some more detailed photos of the seat and its fittings if you wanted but Imo it would be abig job and you would have better results working from a DT125R seat base and building it up.
Nev not sure if you were asking about my snorkel but here is the parts diagram for the airbox, as you can see its veyr different from the Dt125 and lanza style snorkels.
That was taken from a parts manual for a WR200RD. If anyone wants a copy of it, pm me your email address and ill send it across.
hi whats the I.D of the silencer tube?, i'm torn between an fmf or dep and i know its a long shot but maybe my dep silencer will fit the 200 front pipe
The silencer appears to be a DEP. Its very stubby. I don't think it has any markings on it and is very scratched up. When I'm next out there ill take some detialed photos of it and get some measurments if you like. Let me know what you need.
No problem I'll sort it out tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it will be but will double check. Even of not I'm sure you could make some kind of tube to step it down from whichever side is too large.
