Hey lads off to work this morning as usual got to the bottom of the hill to my work turned right and a CRACK noise happened.....bike stopped and kick start is jammed solid. Pushed the bike up the hill and to the bike shop 2 doors down from my work, he has took the top end off and cant see much wrong, now bottom end has to come off... Any of you lot have any ideas on what could be the problem as i am not that clever on mechanics ashamed....any help would be apprieciated

Crikey mate that sounds like a dent to the wallet, try and have a go yourself, or give your engine to Norfe maybe? I don't want you get get mugged off and end up paying something stupid like £500 for a rebuild! no

Sounds like something's sheered off, same thing happened to mine, turned out to be one of the balancer shaft bearings had literately fallen apart and was jamming everything up Could be anything though but probably won't cost you too much to sort if you do it yourself.

He estimated a quote of £300 ish for rebuild if it needs it that fair????   I just havent a clue about the mechanics really i am prepared to give it a go but i just aint got the time either i work 6 days a week and got 2 nippers so much of my time is taken up. Could do without shelling out 300 nicker though. I will keep you lot posted when i get more news

If the kickstart was jammed then surely the best thing to do first is to have a look at the clutch side of things.

Please don't take your clutch cover off first ,as above take the flywheel cover off first (no gaskets/ no oil/ no bearings/ no water ) just open the case have a look give evthing a bit of a wobble ,see if it's wet in there atall etc etc and let us know My mate was off the road for bout 3 weeks coz of a broken woodruff key got sheared and stuck lol,he thought his whole GB had died ha ha

yeah 1st thing id do is whip off the clutch cover and have a look. if its jammed then something has either come loose, broke

could be sumet as simple as a chunk of gear  its hardened steel and if it gets in the way of things not much can crush it inside a lil motor any way

if nothing visable, take the kickstart setup out and take the magnito cover off and try and spin the magnito, if it turns over freely its nothing to do woith the engine...so then take the clutch off and see if the gear shafts spin and select gears

but best thing u cud do is get it out garage lol

iv got 2 kids and no what 300 will do in a famlyhome

if ur not that in the no he could make up all sorts sumet daft and 10 min fix could turn in to uwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww its gunna need a full rebuild lol

so send it me lol

£50 full strip and build and ill tell u if/what u need....where do u live?

iv got loads of parts that propbly would fitt at v little extra cost biggrin
