Well I've finally mounted my Vapor stealth after not having it for about a year.
I've sorted it out.
What do you guys think?
Sorry to say it but I'm going to copy Davids Idea here. Sorry mate. But I'm wiring an on light into the loom. See that bigger hole to the left. Got some LED's that'll fit nicely in there :D Can't wait to get it all spliced into the loom. Lol Such a geek for lights lmao!
Due to the yokes being so high I don't know whether or not this will sit beneath the clocks. Which is a shame but there really isn't much I can do about that...
Messy wiring but I love the way it hugs to forks :D
This is made out of the same stuff that I made my other one out of. Although this time I've used the really sort side to mount to the yokes. Hopefully this'll mean less wobble at high speeds.
Will get more piccy's when the cowls back on. See what it looks like then.
First attempt was made out if iron. Solid construction didn't vibrate at all. But rusted and looked gash.
Then made one out if stainless steel. Although at the time i could only get my hands on this thin piece so consequently had a ton of flex in it. Then found some old plastic and managed to fabricate one from that. Which i sold to slob. Then made another one.
Thought i would ask in this thread instead of starting a new one, spent all day trying to install this to my 07 re today everythings fine except the wiring to the dashboard. Basically I have wired everything up and I cannot get a spark unless I connect the yellow wire from the highbeam to the light blue wire from the neutral light which makes the relay click and I can start the bike first time but once put in gear the oil and neutral lights stay on, both worked fine before I messed around with them wondering if anyone could help me out would be much appreciated !
Dont think its the battery but will try anyway when I turn on the ignition pv does its usual cleaning cycle then its as if the kill switch is pressed in (it isnt) until either one of the wires from the main beam light (black or yellow) touch the light blue wire it will fire into life gave up with it tonight but will start again tommorow. Cheers guys
Are you talking about the brown wire which is on the same switch as the green and red ? Im guessing that I have a short circuit somewhere would that be whats causing the oil and neutral lights to stay on aswell?
Thanks slob everything looks the same as what I tried still no joy im considering just riding it with the oil and neutral lights always on as far as I know it will still pass an mot like this ? Thanks.
Thats what I was wondering turns out the switch is activated in neutral by grounding it hence why the black wire was turning it on and allowing the bike to start will eventually get round to sorting it and will need to keep an eye on the oil level but I can live with that.
